How can we help you with psychotherapy?

By booking a session with the therapist, Yvonne Drysdale, you will be able to overcome your difficulties, become more confident and regain a sense of control. She will greet you in a comfortable and safe environment where absolute confidentiality is guaranteed. Your views, ideals and religious beliefs will be treated with due respect. You will be free to ask questions and discuss your concerns. During therapy, she will help you using the brief, solution-focussed psychotherapy model. This model is a combination of cognitive-behaviour therapy and clinical hypnosis.

 

Solution-focussed therapy & Cognitive-Behaviour therapy

Solution-focussed, cognitive-behaviour therapy is the most researched therapy available today. It has excellent results and is statistically proven to be effective with a vast range of psychological difficulties including, self-confidence issues, depression, addictions and anxiety in just a few sessions.

 

Clinical hypnotherapy

Clinical hypnotherapy is excellent for the treatment of anxiety disorders, confidence building, addictions and phobias.

 

The combination of these therapies means that you can overcome your difficulties quickly and effectively as you regain a sense of control, hope and meaning.

 

Most people require a small number of sessions to overcome their difficulties.  Your therapist will inform you of the number of sessions you need at the end of your exploratory session.

 

What happens during therapy sessions?

The first exploratory session lasts one hour. It is a three-part session:

 

Information

Yvonne tells you a little about herself, the type of therapy model that she uses in addition to answering your questions and addressing your concerns.

 

Exploration

You explore the reason for your visit and she asks you some questions to get a better understanding of the your psychological difficulty, its frequency and degree. Yvonne will help you find other healthier areas of your life and seek out your strengths, abilities and core skills. This knowledge can be used during the therapy to help you address, control and finally overcome your psychological difficulty.

 

Goal setting

You both agree to a target for the therapy. Yvonne prepares a therapy plan and informs you how many sessions you will need to overcome your problem. If there is time left, you can begin the therapy.

 

Further sessions

Further therapy sessions also last one hour. During these sessions you cover the following:

Changes and improvements. You discuss changes and improvements, assess what has worked best and follow the treatment plan.

 

Therapy

You then have therapy which can be in the form of discussions, cognitive (thinking) exercises, list writing, behaviour exercise, role-play and, if you agree, hypnotherapy. Sessions can contain some or all of these components depending on the nature of your psychological difficulty and your degree of progress.

 

Task and exercises

Yvonne may ask you to complete certain tasks, such as noticing when and where your psychological difficulty occurs and its strength. You also cover exceptions and times when the psychological difficulty does not occur so that we can see which parts of your life encourage or discourage the problem. This means that your therapy carries on outside of the therapy room as well as inside increasing results and consolidating treatment. These exercises are empowering and help you to take control over your thought patterns and behaviour, rather than being at their mercy.

 

The final therapy session lasts for one hour and contains two sections

 

Discussion

You discuss your original reason for attending therapy review your goals so that you feel completely confident and happy that you have reached your target.

 

Summary

This covers how to avoid relapse, maintain healthy lifestyle patterns and behaviours.

 

How much does therapy cost?

You can book your appointment with our psychotherapist and coach, Yvonne Drysdale.  All sessions of one hour are 128.00 pounds. Simply pay in advance with a cheque or by card over the phone. 

 

NB: If you need to change the day or time of your session please give us notice of 48 hours to avoid being charged the full no-show fee of 128.00 pounds .
